Kololo SSS was filled with excitement in the morning hours of Thursday 13th August when Miss Uganda Foundation stormed the school with a message of abstinence to students. In a bid to offer support, hope and guidance to the students’ community, the Foundation surprised the students with sanitary pads to help improve their menstrual hygiene, Pepsodent toothpaste, and hand jelly as part of their effort to maintain personal hygiene.
In its effort in fulfilling its agenda number one of Combatting Gender-Based Violence and Protecting Children, the Foundation organized its outreach to Kololo SSS as part of the 2,300 schools to implement the, “CUT IT OUT CHALLENGES” drive. The drive focuses in deterring the youth from engaging in such misleading acts like drug abuse, sexual immorality and school dropout. This initiative was warmly received by the school administration under the stewardship of Madam Betty Mwesigwa, the head teacher Kololo SSS. She described the intervention as timely and part of the effort in building and having a responsible society that starts with instilling values when these teenagers are still in school. She offers to support the agenda of the Foundation should they organize Miss Uganda High School challenge.
